This innovative platform uses photos to identify missing dogs and cats in a national database of over 170,000 animals. Steps to take right away!
- Start by thoroughly searching your property, calling out their name. Inform neighbors and friends, asking them to keep a lookout. Crucially, request they don't shout or chase your dog, as this can scare them further. Instead, ask them to contact you with any sightings.
- Place a blanket or article of clothing with your scent near your door or garage, leaving the garage door slightly ajar for safety. The familiar scent will guide your dog back home, providing comfort and reassurance, and increasing the chances of a safe return.
- Place a small plate of food and water near your door or garage near the blanket/article of clothing. Most dogs who get lost return to the last area they were in.
- Don't hesitate to reach out to Paws Rescue League for guidance and support. Our dedicated team will help spread the word through social media posts, contact the microchip company, and contact volunteer dog recovery groups to assist in the search.
